A community-building Tree-Planting event took place on February 22, 2025, on BFFF land.
It was the first of its kind in the Lake Bunyonyi region, and was a collaborative success!!!
One Lake Bunyonyi resident stated, “This event has changed the mindsets of this community. Instead of waiting for hand-outs, they now know that – together – they can make a difference for their childrens’ future“
With over 200 community volunteers (ranging from newborns to Elders of 100+ years), over 200 seedlings were planted (and recorded with names of both plants and community members).
Everyone left this event with a smile and enriched connections to BFFF land and to each other.
Prior to the event, BFFF group members prepared the land and built a fence (to keep livestock from eating new seedlings).
