Short Term Goals (Funding Dependent)
Government-Sponsored Irrigation System
An engineer from Uganda's Minister of Agriculture visited BFFF and has approved a solar-and-gravity-powered irrigation system. Currently awaiting 75% of government funding while raising funds for BFFF's remaining 25%.
Food Dehydration System
Currently fund-raising for the purchase of a Solar-powered Dehydrator. With this machine, BFFF can dry and store excess herbs (for tea) and fruit (mango, pineapple, banana, tomato, jackfruit, papaya...) for family nutrition as well as value-laden production (sold at BFFF and surrounding organizations with profits returning to BFFF). The drying and processing of Avocados (for oil) is also part of this goal for value-laden food preservation.
Longer Term Goals (Funding Dependent)
Future goals include the construction of a BFFF: Workshop, Store, Vocational Skills Training Center (for Arts, Tailoring, Construction, Culinary, and other community-relevant skills), Nature Play Space, Swimming Dock, and Volunteer Accommodation.
