Education & Outreach

Food Forest Education and Tourism

To nurture local and visitor relations, and to expand awareness of Bunyonyi Food Forest Foundation, this community hub will serve as an education site.

School groups (from the many Primary and Secondary schools in the Lake Bunyonyi region) will have a space to learn about – and contribute to – sustainable agricultural practices, cultural history and relations, lake and boat safety, conservation, and youth-inspired community action projects.

Faculty and students from nearby Kabale University (KAB) come together through Community engagement programs and KAB-VIU Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Individuals and organizations within the region also have a space to connect, collaborate, and contribute.

To promote far-reaching awareness, cottage-style accommodation(s) will be constructed on BFFF land, inviting visitors to stay and take part in teachings and experiences. These opportunities can also support sustainable, circular funding for ongoing projects and initiatives (100% nominal accommodation/program fees go back into BFFF).
